What a Week That Was!

Wednesday night, broadcasting live in intense heat from Seville for STV’s coverage of Rangers in the Europa League Final.

Thursday night back in Scotland (having flown through the night) for the Scotland Tonight 10th Anniversary party.

Friday night in Glasgow for an event at the GFT to mark ‘The Road Dance’ going on general cinema release.

Saturday night in Edinburgh for a Q&A session after a screening at the Dominion Cinema.

Amid all that I’ve been doing my day job of presenting the STV News.

I didn’t eat a proper meal until Sunday.

It’s been a blast.

Only a couple of weeks before we had special screenings of ‘The Road Dance’ on the Isle of Lewis.  It was really important to me and the producers that the islanders got a chance to see the film.

And now ‘The Road Dance’ is out there for everyone to see.

What has been especially exciting has been the great response. At the screenings, in messages to me and on social media the reaction has been overwhelmingly positive. It was especially kind of Lorraine Kelly on her popular morning TV show to say she “loved, loved, loved the film” and urge people to go to see it.

It has been such a long road to get ‘The Road Dance’ on screen and is it heartening to hear that it has been worthwhile.

It’ll be available in selected cinemas across the UK for the next ten weeks or so and I am convinced that word-of-mouth will play a major part in its success.

So, thank you for your support and keep spreading the word.
